The 2024 Troon Access GL Championship kicked off on December 5, featuring 44 two-person teams in a par-3 tournament at Grass Clippings Rolling Hills in Tempe, Arizona.

This championship is hosted at Grass Clippings Rolling Hills, Arizona's first fully lit golf course, which recently underwent a $15 million renovation and reopened in late 2023.

The course offers a unique experience, transitioning from a par-63 executive layout during the day to an all-par-3, par-54 course at night, illuminated by over 78 LED lights.

The Grass League, founded by the Phoenix-based Grass Clippings company in 2018, is recognized as the world's first high-stakes par-3 golf league, featuring teams from nine cities.

The tournament format consists of a 36-hole scramble played over two evenings, with the first round starting at 5 p.m. and the final round beginning at 1:30 p.m. on December 6.

The opening round utilized a shotgun start format, while the final round will feature progressive tee times based on standings from the first round.

Notable teams include the Hollywood Hitters, featuring former tennis star Mardy Fish and MLB pitcher Mark Mulder, and Phoenix United with golf instructor George Gankas and Nick Mason.

In addition to these athletes, current LPGA golfer Sarah Schmelzel, who has achieved seven top-10 finishes in 2024, is also participating.

After the first round, participants enjoyed an after-party with live music, food trucks, and a vibrant atmosphere on the event lawn.

An awards ceremony is scheduled for December 6 at 9 p.m., following the conclusion of the final round.

Fans can watch the championship live on Peacock, with the final round streaming starting at 8 p.m. ET on December 6.
