TGL, a mixed-reality golf league co-founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, is set to debut on ESPN on January 7, 2024.

Matches will primarily occur on Monday and Tuesday nights and are expected to last around two hours.

The league aims to attract a new audience by blending virtual and real-life golf experiences.

The inaugural match will take place at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, which accommodates approximately 1,500 spectators.

The league, presented by SoFi, announced its inaugural season schedule, which includes a total of 15 matches running until March 4, 2025.

Woods is scheduled to play in the second match on January 14, 2024, but his participation is uncertain due to recent back surgery.

Tickets for the matches will start at $160, with presale beginning on October 28, 2023.

Broadcast enhancements will include live shot broadcasting, a 40-second shot clock, player microphones, and advanced shot data.

TGL aims to create a live, immersive experience that appeals to a broader range of sports fans, enhancing viewer engagement with a fast-paced format.

Sixty-five percent of the matches will be broadcast on ESPN, ensuring that all of Woods' matches are featured, as the league is designed for television audiences.

Each match will feature three players from each of the six teams competing in 15-hole contests that combine alternate shots and head-to-head play.

The playoff semifinals are scheduled for March 17-18, followed by the best-of-three finals on March 24-25.
