FromSoftware has announced a network test for Elden Ring: Nightreign, a cooperative spin-off game, with registration starting on January 10, 2025, and testing scheduled for February 2025.

Character progression has been streamlined, allowing players to team up with different skill builds without navigating complicated menus.

Selected participants in the network test will provide feedback to help refine the game, requiring a stable internet connection and sufficient storage space.

Progress made during the network test will not carry over to the full game, ensuring a level playing field for all players upon release.

Set in a twisted version of Limgrave called Limveld, Nightreign emphasizes intense cooperative gameplay for up to three players.

Players will encounter a day-night cycle where nighttime poses greater dangers, and the map shrinks, challenging players to stay close and survive.

The objective of the game is to survive for three days and defeat a formidable boss known as the Nightlord, which will yield powerful rewards and enhance replayability.

Elden Ring: Nightreign is planned for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2025.

Nightreign will feature enemies from Dark Souls, providing familiarity and challenge for fans of the franchise.

Additionally, the upcoming Elden Ring expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, is set to release on June 21, 2024, introducing a new map and storyline centered on the quest to find the demigod Miquella.

The network test aims to verify the technical aspects of the game's online systems, ensuring a smooth multiplayer experience at launch.

This expansion will also add new content, including weapons, armor, and spells, maintaining the challenging gameplay that fans expect.
