Stardew Valley's final update (version 1.6) will be released on March 19 for PC, featuring a new Meadowlands Farm type, new festivals, dialogue, and more.

The update, originally intended for modders, has been expanded into a major content addition to the game.

Creator Eric Barone has informed mod users that many mods are compatible with the new update and provided a database link for mod compatibility tracking.

Players wishing to remain on version 1.5.6 have options to do so via the Steam betas page or a public Steam branch.

New features in the update include fruit trees producing saplings, more efficient harvesting, improved melee combat, and quality-of-life improvements.

Post-PC release, Barone will concentrate on updating mobile and console versions and his upcoming game, Haunted Chocolatier.
