At CES 2025 in Las Vegas, Nvidia unveiled its RTX 50-series graphics cards, including the flagship RTX 5090, which is set to launch on January 30, 2025.

The RTX 5090 comes with a hefty price tag of $1,999, reflecting a higher cost compared to previous generations.

Despite boasting 32% more CUDA cores than the RTX 4090, early benchmarks suggest that the performance improvement is less significant than anticipated.

Initial testing indicates that the RTX 5090 offers only a moderate performance boost over its predecessor, the RTX 4090.

In synthetic benchmarks, the RTX 5090 scored 367,740 points in OpenCL and 359,742 points in Vulkan, outperforming the RTX 4090 by 15% and 37%, respectively.

The RTX 5090 also excelled in Blender 3.6.0, achieving a median score of 17,822.17, which is 36% faster than the RTX 4090's score of 13,064.17.

In CUDA API tests, the RTX 5090 recorded an impressive 542,157 points, surpassing the RTX 4090's score of 424,332 by 27%.

However, it is important to note that synthetic benchmarks may not accurately reflect real-world gaming performance, and more comprehensive reviews are anticipated.

In addition to the RTX 5090, Nvidia also announced the RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5070 during the same event.

Notably, the RTX 5090D, which is available exclusively in China, achieved a score of 14,706.65 in Blender v4.3.0, outperforming the RTX 4090D by 40%.
