The tourism sector has experienced significant growth in early 2025, highlighted by a 12% increase in overnight stays in January and an impressive 28% rise in February compared to the same months in 2024.

French tourism professionals are optimistic about a favorable spring season, buoyed by a calendar that allows for multiple long weekends.

This surge in tourism is further evidenced by a 13% rise in international arrivals during January and February, which has contributed to an 8% increase in international tourism revenue, totaling 5.1 billion euros in January.

Nathalie Delattre, the delegate minister for tourism, emphasized the notable return of Asian tourists, particularly from China, although overall visitor levels still lag behind pre-COVID figures.

Despite these positive trends, there are concerns regarding a slight decline in American tourist numbers and business travel, which remain areas of vigilance for the industry.
