Ethereum core developers have confirmed their commitment to launching Full EOF (EVM object format) with the upcoming Fusaka fork, signaling a major step forward in the Ethereum ecosystem.

This initiative represents a significant overhaul of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), aimed at enhancing optimization, safety, and modularity.

With the negotiation phase regarding EOF concluded, the focus has now shifted towards its implementation and testing.

Tim Beiko acknowledged the complexity of EOF but emphasized that such complexity should not hinder development efforts, highlighting the necessity of progress.

However, the introduction of EOF has sparked internal conflict among developers, with Felix from the Geth team advocating for a more conservative approach, known as Option D, in contrast to the push for Full EOF.

Despite some dissent, members of the Ethereum Foundation, including Piper Merriam and Ansgar Dietrichs, have expressed their support for the Full EOF initiative, citing its structural benefits and backward compatibility.

Conversely, Pascal Caversaccio criticized the EOF implementation, arguing that application developers do not demand it and that its complexity may alienate the developer community.
