Coinbase and BINARY Korea Launch Onchain Protocol to Revolutionize Fan Engagement in South Korea
September 13, 2024Coinbase has teamed up with BINARY Korea to launch a new Onchain Engagement Protocol designed to enhance fan engagement in South Korea.
This initiative is bolstered by South Korea's strong crypto adoption, where the country ranks among the top 20 globally, potentially aiding the Engagement Protocol's success among THEUS users.
The protocol will seamlessly integrate Coinbase's Base and Wallet with BINARY's fan engagement platform, THEUS, leveraging Web3 and AI technologies.
It aims to facilitate various transactions, including payments, rewards, and donations, and may incorporate NFTs, all operating on Coinbase's Ethereum Layer 2, Base.
THEUS, which launched earlier this year, has already attracted over 50,000 users, allowing creators to upload content and interact with fans through dedicated spaces.
To enhance user experience, new AI tools will be introduced, such as AI-Powered Influencer Discovery for connecting influencers with fans and Autonomous Engagement Management for automating interactions.
The use of blockchain technologies presents influencers with new monetization opportunities that extend beyond the limitations of traditional social media platforms.
Despite the growth of the creator economy in South Korea, which generated over 1.142 trillion won in 2022, income remains highly concentrated among a small number of top creators, indicating a need for fairer economic models.
BINARY Korea, a division of HYBE Corporation, is dedicated to merging entertainment with technology to enhance interactions between creators and their fans.
