Tesla's 2024 Holiday Update: FSD v13.2.2 Rolls Out with Exciting Features and TPMS Software Fix
December 22, 2024This Holiday Update, along with FSD v13.2.2, is delivered through a single over-the-air software update identified as version 2024.45.25.5.
The initial rollout started on December 21, 2024, with additional updates anticipated in the following days.
Tesla has begun the rollout of its Full Self-Driving (FSD) version 13.2.2 as part of the 2024 Holiday Update, which introduces a variety of new features for vehicles equipped with Hardware 4 (HW4).
Cybertruck owners are particularly enthusiastic about the updates, which also include the ability to adjust the rear-view camera's zoom level and a larger display when viewed over maps.
Improvements in speed zone handling have been implemented, especially in school zones, although drivers are still required to monitor compliance with speed limits.
FSD V13.2.2 now correctly responds to school buses, stopping for flashing stop signs and waiting until it is safe to proceed, thereby reducing the need for driver intervention.
Notable enhancements in FSD v13.2.2 include advanced AI4 video inputs, improved data scaling, reduced latency, enhanced navigation capabilities, and better collision avoidance predictions.
The update also allows the rear screen on compatible vehicles to be utilized for playing arcade games while driving, adding a new layer of entertainment.
In addition to the FSD updates, Tesla has issued a recall for 700,000 vehicles in the U.S. due to a software bug affecting the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), which has been resolved through an over-the-air update.
Among the new features, the Holiday Update allows for customizable vehicle avatars, including a sleigh with Santa Mode, and introduces Rainbow Road for select models like the Model 3 Highland and Cybertruck.
Initially, the update is available to users with the Supervised Full Self-Driving feature, with a broader rollout expected throughout the week.
Meanwhile, owners of HW3 vehicles are awaiting a free retrofit upgrade for unsupervised FSD, which is anticipated to be available sometime in 2025 or later.
