NCR acquired LibertyX in 2021, and following a corporate split in 2022, Atleos now manages the ATM operations, integrating LibertyX's technology into its vast network.

NCR Atleos has introduced the LibertyX Bitcoin Cashout feature, enabling users across the U.S. to convert Bitcoin (BTC) into cash at ATMs.

This new feature allows LibertyX users to sell Bitcoin through the app and withdraw cash from select Atleos ATMs.

The Bitcoin Cashout feature is now available at Atleos' ATM network, which spans over 30 states.

The integration of Atleos' ReadyCode API has made this cashout feature possible, showcasing LibertyX's commitment to bridging digital and physical currency transactions.

To use the service, users must pre-stage their transactions via the app, selecting an ATM, sending BTC to a designated address, and using an access code to retrieve cash.

Users can withdraw up to $400 per transaction at participating ATMs after staging their transaction on the LibertyX app, with the option to execute multiple transactions using different codes.

This service is accessible at ATMs in over 30 states, part of the extensive 280,000 ATMs operated by Atleos nationwide.

Despite the potential for significant earnings from BTC ATMs, operators face regulatory challenges that have slowed the installation rate of these machines.

Since 2020, LibertyX has been facilitating BTC purchases at more than 30,000 ATMs, holding a New York BitLicense.

LibertyX General Manager Chris Yim stated that the Cashout feature helps eliminate barriers to Bitcoin adoption by facilitating easy cash conversions.

LibertyX operates under a New York BitLicense, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for this integration.
