QED Protocol Secures $6M to Revolutionize Bitcoin with High-Performance zk-Native Blockchain
July 4, 2024QED Protocol, a zk-native blockchain for Web3 on Bitcoin, has raised $6 million in funding led by Blockchain Capital.
This brings their total fundraising to over $10 million.
The project aims to enhance Bitcoin's scalability and security by verifying zero-knowledge proofs, enabling smart contracts and layer-two solutions.
QED plans to launch a testnet in 3-4 months, followed by a mainnet release and the introduction of its native token.
The funding will support the development of zero-knowledge proof verification technology to enable decentralized exchanges and DeFi applications on Bitcoin.
QED's technology could potentially process over 150,000 transactions per second.
Carter Feldman, QED's founder, emphasized compatibility with Bitcoin Core and Taproot script.
Aleks Larsen, Blockchain Capital's General Partner, praised QED's potential within the Bitcoin-centric ecosystem.
The platform offers a horizontally scalable architecture for hyperscalable Web3 applications, supporting DeFi, NFTs, and more.
QED is set to open its first U.S. office and is currently hiring for engineering and marketing positions.
