The Aquidneck Island Climate Caucus, established by Representatives Lauren H. Carson and Terri Cortvriend, focuses on promoting climate mitigation and adaptation efforts within the community.

In a significant move to combat climate challenges like flooding and water quality, the Aquidneck Island Land Trust has secured nearly $2 million in funding, collaborating with local municipalities and Naval Station Newport.

To further the conversation on climate change, Representatives Carson and Cortvriend will host a virtual discussion on March 30, 2025, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The event will feature insights from Terry Sullivan, Executive Director of the Aquidneck Island Land Trust, and Paige Myatt, Director of Climate Resilience, who will discuss regional resilience coordination efforts.
