In California, intense wildfires raged, while Tropical Storm Helene wreaked havoc in the southeastern United States, leading to at least 234 fatalities.

Europe also grappled with significant climate challenges, highlighted by widespread wildfires in Portugal and severe flooding from Storm Boris affecting multiple countries including Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia.

In South America, Brazil's Madeira River experienced severe drought conditions, while Bolivia faced wildfires and Ecuador dealt with bushfires near its capital.
