The 2024 World Press Photo Contest has highlighted the impacts of global warming, selecting regional winners from over 61,000 entries by 3,851 photographers from 130 countries.

Themes of the contest included global warming, the Israeli-Hamas war, environmental conservation, political conflicts, and stories of human resilience.

Powerful imagery depicted the harsh realities of climate change, such as wildfires in Canada and Australia and floods in Bangladesh, emphasizing the global reach of these issues.

The regional winners will be unveiled at the World Press Photo Exhibition in Amsterdam on April 18, 2024.

Photographers like Julia Kochetova, Charles-Frédérick Ouellet, Lalo de Almeida, and Marco Garro have captured the human dimensions of global crises, aiming to raise awareness and understanding through their work.
