Charleroi airport has announced the cancellation of 89 flights scheduled for tomorrow due to a shortage of security personnel, raising safety concerns.

This situation will affect approximately 16,000 passengers who had planned to travel.

The cancellations coincide with school holidays for children in Wallonia and Francophone education in Brussels, resulting in high booking levels for flights.

Passengers booked on flights to Charleroi are advised to contact their airline to confirm if their flight has been diverted or canceled.

While departures from Charleroi are canceled, arrivals will continue as scheduled.

The airport is committed to resuming normal service by Wednesday.
