A violent incident unfolded just after 9 AM on Sunday at the intersection of Princes Highway and Old Bush Road in Engadine, southern Sydney, beginning with a two-vehicle crash.

Emergency services quickly responded to multiple 000 calls regarding the crash, leading to the discovery of several injured individuals.

In total, four people were injured in the incident, including a police officer.

Among the injured, a woman believed to be a passenger in one of the vehicles was found with multiple stab wounds.

One patient suffered multiple stab wounds, while another had a stab wound to the abdomen, and a third sustained a broken arm.

Paramedics treated the injured at the scene before transporting them to hospitals for further care.

The police officer involved sustained serious lacerations to his left wrist during the arrest of a suspect.

Police apprehended a man who was allegedly fleeing the crash scene and found him with stab wounds; he was taken into custody after being tasered.

Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing, with no ongoing threat to the community confirmed.

NSW Police Minister Yasmin Catley stated that the person of interest has been arrested and there is no ongoing risk to the public.

As a result of the incident, the Princes Highway was closed in both directions, and motorists were advised to avoid the area.

Transport for NSW has recommended alternative routes for drivers heading south from Kirrawee due to the road closures.
