Sony's $60 Adapter Enables PlayStation VR2 to Access SteamVR on PCs
February 21, 2025
The PlayStation VR2 headset can now be connected to a PC using a $60 adapter released by Sony, enabling access to SteamVR games.
To facilitate the connection, you will need to install Steam, SteamVR, and the PlayStation VR2 app on your PC.
Before connecting, ensure your PC meets the PS VR2’s minimum specifications, including Bluetooth 4.0 and a spare DisplayPort 1.4 cable.
Next, connect the PS VR2 adapter to a USB 3.0 port, link it to the GPU via DisplayPort 1.4, and power it using the included AC adapter.
To connect the headset, first activate Bluetooth on your PC and pair the Sense controllers by holding down the PlayStation and Create buttons until the lights blink.
Once connected, turn on the PS VR2 headset, launch SteamVR, and follow on-screen instructions to set up your play area and preferences.
For optimal performance, users with newer GPUs may need to disable Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling in their PC settings.
Currently, direct connection to a PC without the adapter is not officially supported, though some users report success using GPUs with VirtualLink capabilities.
