Pimax has unveiled the final specifications and design of its highly anticipated Crystal Super VR headset during a recent keynote announcement.

The entry price for the Crystal Super has been lowered from $1,799 to $1,695, making it more accessible to consumers.

Pre-orders for the Crystal Super are now open, with shipping expected to commence in the first quarter of 2025.

Customers who pre-order will benefit from free DMAS headphones and free shipping in select regions, while original Crystal owners can enjoy a $399 discount on their Prime membership.

The headset boasts an impressive resolution of 3840 × 3840 pixels per eye, delivering retina-level clarity with 57 pixels per degree (PPD).

It features a 120° horizontal field of view and utilizes aspherical glass lenses that provide 99% light transmission and a brightness of 280 nits.

The Crystal Super is equipped with Local Dimming 2.0, offering 1000 zones of contrast per eye, and includes advanced eye tracking and inside-out tracking capabilities.

Despite its high specifications, the headset is designed to run smoothly on mid-range PCs, thanks to its high pixel density which minimizes the need for anti-aliasing.

Pimax has optimized the size and weight of the headset, reducing the housing volume by nearly 30% for enhanced comfort compared to earlier models.

Included with the headset are controllers that support Pimax Play features, such as dynamic foveated rendering and upscaling for improved performance.

A new financing model allows customers to pay $999 upfront, followed by either a one-time payment of $696 or monthly installments of $32.99 over 24 months.
