Agility Robotics Seeks $400M Funding at $1.75B Valuation to Revolutionize Robotics Industry
April 1, 2025
Agility aims to capitalize on the growing demand for robotic solutions in sectors such as logistics, healthcare, and customer service.
Agility Robotics, based in Oregon and led by CEO Peggy Johnson, is seeking to raise $400 million at a pre-money valuation of $1.75 billion to advance its technology and market presence.
This fundraising effort is led by WP Global's venture arm and includes participation from SoftBank, reflecting a broader trend of significant investments in robotics and AI technologies.
The company is focused on developing advanced humanoid robots that can assist in various tasks across different industries.
Agility announced plans for a manufacturing facility in Salem capable of producing over 10,000 robots annually, which was disclosed in September 2023.
The humanoid robot, Digit, stands 5 feet 9 inches tall, can carry up to 35 pounds, and is equipped with cameras, sensors, and a LiDAR system for environmental scanning.
Recent advancements for Digit include enhanced battery capabilities, autonomous docking for charging, added safety features, and improved robotic limbs for better grasping angles.
Designed to operate in human environments, Digit can autonomously sense, grasp, and move items such as storage totes in warehouses.
The company also raised $150 million from Amazon's Industrial Innovation Fund, which supports developments in supply chain technology.
Currently, Agility has around 100 humanoid robots deployed in various applications, showcasing their innovative designs and potential impact on labor-intensive industries.
Previously, Agility Robotics raised $320 million, with a notable financing round last fall led by DCVC at a valuation of approximately $1 billion.
Agility Robotics ranks No. 6 on the GeekWire 200 index of Pacific Northwest startups, highlighting its growing prominence in the tech landscape.
