Chinese scientists have developed the world's first AI child, named Tong Tong, with emotional and cognitive abilities akin to a 3-4 year old human.

Tong Tong is capable of autonomous learning, emotional intelligence, moral discernment, and expressing attitudes in diverse contexts.

The AI child demonstrates the ability to recognize objects and people, mimic child behavior, and show genuine feelings and reactions.

The Beijing Institute for General Artificial Intelligence created the 'Tong Test' to measure AI communication and intelligence on five dimensions, pushing the envelope towards general artificial intelligence.
