STEM METS Celebrates 10 Years of Transformative Education Impacting 30,000 Young Africans

The 10th Anniversary Ceremony of STEM METS was held in Lagos, where experts gathered to discuss the critical role of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education.
Keynote speaker Odunayo Sanya, Executive Director of the MTN Foundation, described STEM METS as a beacon of hope, highlighting the necessity of quality STEM education to inspire innovation and create opportunities for young minds.
Despite facing challenges such as limited resources in Africa's education landscape, STEM METS has trained 580 educators, establishing itself as a key player in STEM educational reform.
CEO Jadesola Adedeji emphasized the organization's significant impact, noting that STEM METS has empowered over 30,000 young Africans with essential skills for the global economy over the past decade.
Adedeji further stressed the organization's vision of transforming education from rote learning to a more hands-on, engaging experience that fosters creativity and experimentation.
The event included a panel discussion on the future of education, featuring insights from industry experts like Molade Adeniyi, CEO of Teach for Nigeria, and Titi Adewusi, Co-Founder of 9ija Kids, moderated by Yemisi Ogunlade.
As part of the anniversary celebration, outstanding students were recognized as future STEM leaders, showcasing their creativity and achievements in line with STEM METS' commitment to nurturing innovation.
