A boy was found roaming near Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road and Rozelles Ferry Road in northeast Charlotte and is now in the custody of Mecklenburg County DSS while authorities search for his guardians.

The boy, estimated to be 9 to 12 years old, was located around 7 p.m. on February 21, 2026, near Mt Holly-Huntersville Road and Rozelles Ferry Road in the North Division.

CMPD also reported locating a boy in northwest Charlotte around the same time near Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road and Rozelles Ferry Road.

Authorities are asking the public to help locate the boy’s parents or guardians and to call 911 immediately if they have information.

CMPD placed the boy in Mecklenburg County DSS custody for safety and ongoing custody arrangements.
