OpenAI Unveils 'Tasks': Schedule Future ChatGPT Prompts with Ease
December 18, 2024An intuitive user interface will be provided for managing tasks, enabling users to easily view, pause, delete, and edit their scheduled tasks.
OpenAI is set to launch a new feature called Tasks, which will enter beta during the upcoming 12 days of OpenAI, enabling users to schedule prompts for future execution by ChatGPT.
Internally referred to as Jawbone, this feature has been under development for some time and is expected to require model-level integration for optimal functionality.
The primary goal of the Tasks feature is to inspire creativity and facilitate a variety of use cases for users.
Users will have the ability to schedule tasks up to two years in advance, including options for recurring tasks, such as daily updates on AI news from specific sources.
Creating a new task will be straightforward, allowing users to instruct ChatGPT to set it up without any complicated procedures.
In addition to the new Tasks feature, ChatGPT will continue to send push notifications, which will be available on both web and mobile applications.
This development comes as Google is also working on a similar feature, Scheduled Prompts, for its Gemini platform, which is expected to launch in December 2024, intensifying competition between the two tech giants.
